A Community of Transportation Professionals & Practitioners Serving Utah

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. ITE facilitates the application of technology and scientific principles to research, planning, functional design, implementation, operation, policy development and management for any mode of ground transportation. ITE promotes professional development of its members, supports and encourages education, stimulates research, develops public awareness programs and serves as a conduit for the exchange of professional information. Our chapter activities include monthly luncheons with informative guest speakers, an annual one-day seminar, and a summer party and Christmas party. These events provide excellent opportunities for professional development, to network, and keep in touch with colleagues and friends.

About The ITE Utah Chapter Membership

The ITE Utah Chapter boasts a membership of nearly 200 members with diverse backgrounds including UDOT, UTA, MPOS, municipal, agencies, and private sector professionals. Membership includes traffic engineers, designers, signal technicians, GIS specialists, planners, project managers, and much more.
ITE Utah Chapter also encourages membership and attendance of the three student chapters located in Utah: Brigham Young University (Provo), University of Utah (Salt Lake City), and Utah State University (Logan). ITE Utah Chapter covers the cost of lunch for students at its monthly meetings, provides discounted admission to the annual seminar, and provides scholarship opportunities including a paper contest, and holds several ITE events that you can take part in. Many current members of ITE began participating with the chapter as student members.

Our Officers | Introductions

ITE Utah Chapter officers are dedicated transportation professionals who volunteer their time in developing, promoting, and managing Chapter functions throughout the year.  Each individual will spend four years as an officer, starting out as the Treasurer, then stepping up a position each year, eventually becoming President.  Being an officer of ITE has many benefits in networking and educational opportunities, and has proven to be a rewarding experience.  We encourage all of our members to consider volunteering their time and supporting our mission.
