GIS and Data Analysis Intern Spring Summer 2015
Supervisor: Callie New
Description: Gather and analyze data relating to the urban design of streets throughout the region. Extensive field work is anticipated. Other duties will include assisting in cleaning, organizing and analyzing transportation, traffic, land use and demographic data for use in our forecasting models. These models include the regional Travel Demand Model and the Real Estate Market Model.
Timing: May – August 2015, with the potential to extend through December
Hours/week: 20-40
Wages/Salary: Yes
Qualifications: College student with interest and ability in urban planning, geography and/ or demographics. Knowledge of urban design and ability to contribute to/develop metrics that relate to walk-ability and active transportation. Coursework/experience in GIS is required. Experience/ coursework in statistics, economics and programming is a plus.
