The Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC) prepares transportation plans and programs as the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Salt Lake City-West Valley City and Ogden-Layton Urbanized Areas. The WFRC has the following internship position available for the summer-fall of 2017.
Job Title: Communications Intern
Supervisor: Heather McLaughlin-Kolb
Description: Support the strategic communications of the organization. Responsibilities of this position include developing communications plans for various outreach efforts associated with long-range transportation planning, assembling and editing collateral material, updating the organization’s website, and acting as a liaison with community organizations and officials. Competitive candidates will possess excellent written and verbal skills, as well as be extremely organized, proficient with social media, able to successfully complete repetitive tasks, familiar with FTP sites, and demonstrate an ability to work well under deadlines.
Timing: August – December 2017
Qualifications: Undergraduate or graduate student in the field of communications or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required and proficiency with FileZilla, Joomla, and/or WordPress is a plus.
