Utah Professional Societies Joint Event

“For the first time in 40 years, more Utahns are in need of a home than there are homes available. Over the last ten years a 54,000 gap has accrued between the number of Utah families or individuals needing housing and the supply of housing units. The gap is likely to expand in the next few years.” --Salt Lake Chamber. Transportation can play a key role to help provide access to affordability housing opportunity as well as increase the amount of money a household may have available for housing.

There is No Finer Collection of Transportation Engineers than at ITE Utah Chapter

The ITE Utah Chapter boasts a membership of nearly 200 members with diverse backgrounds including UDOT, UTA, MPO, municipal, academia, and private sector professionals. Membership includes traffic engineers, designers, signal technicians, GIS specialists, planners, project managers, and much more.

ITE Utah Chapter also encourages membership and attendance of the three student chapters located in Utah: Brigham Young University (Provo), University of Utah (Salt Lake City), and Utah State University (Logan). Utah Chapter ITE covers the cost of lunch for students at its monthly meetings, provides discounted admission to the annual seminar, and provides scholarship opportunities including a paper contest. Many current members of ITE began participating with the chapter as student members.

Membership in ITE Utah Chapter includes the following benefits:
  • Being included on our e-mail list with announcements and reminders about upcoming luncheons and other activities;

  • Discounted tickets for our annual summer party and our special Christmas luncheon in December;

  • Attendance at the annual conference in January, which provides several hours of professional development; and

  • Numerous opportunities for networking throughout the year.

Participation with the ITE Utah Chapter carries numerous benefits such as networking and continuing education. Below are some of the activities that we have coming up over the next year.

ITE Utah Chapter Membership Registration:
The yearly membership fee for the ITE Utah Chapter is only $25.00. ITE International Member dues are separate from Utah Chapter ITE dues. When you pay Utah Chapter ITE dues you automatically become an affiliate member of ITE International through the Utah Chapter. IMPORTANT: You do not need to sign up as a member if you attend the annual conference in January. Membership is included in the annual conference registration.
ITE Utah Chapter Annual Conference:
For 2019, the conference will be held as typical during the month of January. This is an affordable one day conference with multi-faceted speakers from the transportation industry. There are typically 150 to 200 individuals in attendance at this conference.

ITE Utah Chapter Holiday Party:
We try to hold this the first or second week of December to avoid personal time off and the holiday season.
When: Tuesday, December 11, 2018, 11:30 am.
Where: We will be headed to Tucanos at the Gateway (162 S 400 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84101).
Cost: $15 early. $25 after December 7.

ITE Utah Chapter Monthly Luncheon Seminars:
Typically on the third Tuesday of each month, we will have a speaker that offers up-to-date and informative information directly related to our transportation industry. This monthly seminar is one of the greatest benefits to our local chapter membership. Besides the cost of lunch, there is no additional fee besides your yearly membership dues.
Time: 12:00 – 1:00
Date: Third Tuesday of the month. Please watch our website blog for date changes. We typically do not meet during the months of our yearly sponsored events such as the Annual Conference, Summer Party, Christmas Party, etc
ITE Utah Chapter Summer Party:
Bring your family along with you as we enjoy an evening of food and fun at Boondocks. Buffet dinner begins at 6 pm. Three hours of unlimited use of fun activites begins at 7 pm.
